The 2WD MiniQ mobile robot is especially designed for learning purposes like the 4WD MiniQ mobile robot. It comes fully assembled and all you need is a PC with Arduino IDE and 4xAA batteries.
It is powered by the popular ATmega328P which is fully compatible with Arduino.
The 2WD MiniQ has two wheels with built-in encoders to allow easy control of the robot speed. 2 infrared sensors make it possible for you to build a line tracing robot. IR remote control, 2 infrared transmitters and 1 infrared receiver can help with simple obstacle avoidance. 1 buzzer could give the robot a voice while operating.
Compared with the 4WD MiniQ, the communication function on the 2WD MiniQ platform is improved by implementing a Xbee slot. Wireless communication or wireless programming is now possible.
To wireless program, you will need a pair of Wireless Programming Modules. On the robot, directly plug the WPM module into the Xbee socket on the 2WD MiniQ platform. The other WPM could be easily connected to your computer via a Xbee USB Adapter v2 allowing you to remotely program your robot as a regular Arduino processor.
